Letter from the President

Hello all! My name is Stefany Schade and I am the Incoming President for the 2021-2022 year of the Junior League of Corpus Christi and I am excited!

I am excited to be serving in such an amazing organization that has a phenomenal history in the Corpus Christi area, spanning 84 years. I am excited to continue the legacy and the mission of the Junior League of Corpus Christi that has made such a resounding impact in our community. I am excited to be President in a (sort-of) post-Covid world where we can have in-person gatherings, socials, and events again, where we will form memories that will last a lifetime.

The 2021-2022 year has lots of exciting things in store. This year, our monthly General Membership Meetings will be held in various locations around town. This will provide a unique experience to our members that will enable them to visit different locations, learn about the Corpus Christi community including its history and needs, learn about the history of the Junior League, have in-person training experiences, but most importantly, form bonds with one another through sisterhood and shared experiences.

This year will also have four large events as well as numerous Wave of Red volunteer opportunities for our members and the community.  Our membership volunteered 5,300 hours over the last Junior League year (2020-2021), which is a value of over $150,000 that our organization gave back to the Corpus Christi community.  This was done in the form of hands-on volunteer opportunities, literacy-based events, STEAM-based events, engineering-based events, and the training of women to develop their potential.  Each of these components is vitally important to our community!

Keep an eye on our website and our Facebook page for more information on the events listed below.  We want all of you there!!!

  • Radiothon, October 18-22nd, iHeart Radio, 1st Annual Event
  • Christmas Tree Forest, December 11th, Art Museum of South Texas, 12th Annual Event
  • R.O.C.K.E.T.S., February 26th, Museum of Science and History, 3rd Annual Event
  • Touch-A-Truck, March 19th, Whataburger Field, 4th Annual Event

We have a full and exciting year in store, and we want all of you to come and experience it with us.  Not only are we impacting the community with each of the above events and our Wave of Red volunteer opportunities, but we are also impacting the women around us.  We help one another grow. We are a shoulder to lean on during tough life situations. We share in the joys, the hopes, and the dreams of the women around us. The Junior League of Corpus Christi creates Strong Women who go forth and make important differences in the Corpus Christi community; that is the hidden talent of this organization: we produce amazing women who in turn do amazing things!  Anything from running their school’s PTA, to being an executive director for a local non-profit, to picking up trash before it blows into the bay.  There is nothing too big or too small for a Junior League woman, and as the saying goes, “if you want something done, call the Junior League”!

And because of that, we ALL make a difference, together.
